A traction steam engine was one of the first powered vehicles to operate without train  tracks. It would position itself wherever it was needed and use a flywheel and belt to power new and innovative farm machinery. It was a marvel of innovation in its time and completely changed the agriculture industry across the globe.  

Inspired by the steam engine on display in Central Park in downtown Mount Pleasant, Traction Steam empowers rural businesses, nonprofits and political campaigns to  operate ”off the rails;“ exploring new and innovative ways to utilize new technology and ideas to achieve their goals.
